Tomorrow I am making a short expedition down to Maryland to look at and hopefully buy a 1984 300tdt wagon. Shes a Midnight blue on the outside and Palomino on the inside.
I'll catch yall on the flipside when I get to park her on the streets of NYC!

We've got a 300d sedan in midnight blue/palomino. To date, the only car I've been in an accident in. Beware driving it in the rain on shitty tires, is all I'm saying.

I was driving out a car wash one day in my 240d 4spd and they had just wetted the tires with that greasy stuff, dont know the intricacies. I had to pull out into a 6 lane avenue and make it all the way left to turn. Pull out into the street, gave her the beans, and the bam! I got a tank slapper in the middle of the road and by the time I regained control, seconds later, I was across the street and ready to make my turn. Pretty frightening experience, paired with no ABS.

Compared with my W124 diesel, it's night and day different going around a corner or panic-braking. W123 diesels are nose-heavy like a son of a gun and grabby - probably not as murderously so in a wagon, so the best of luck to ye.

Surely the only time a 240d has spun its tires on any surface besides glare ice....
